There’s something special about performing resort magic shows, especially for someone who grew up in the era when the Poconos and the Catskills were alive with entertainment. Lately I’ve been thinking about those early days, back when places like Pocmont Resort, Fernwood Resort, and so many others were packed every weekend with families looking for a good time. Those stages had a certain energy—warm, lively, and full of possibility—that shaped me long before I realized how important those moments would become.
Working the resort circuit taught me how to connect with audiences of every kind. One night you’d have a room full of families, the next night honeymooners, and the night after that a crowd of people who just wanted to unwind and laugh. Resort magic shows were built on interaction, timing, and the ability to read a room instantly. You had to be flexible, fast, and fully present. Those skills stayed with me and still guide the way I perform today.
Even though many of those old resorts have gone dark, the memories haven’t. Every time I step into a venue that has that same warm, welcoming atmosphere, it brings back the spark that got me started. It reminds me of the long line of performers who came before me, the mentors who inspired me, and the audiences who helped shape the magician I eventually became. There’s a certain kind of magic that only happens in places where people gather to relax, reconnect, and enjoy something together, and resort magic shows still capture that feeling better than almost anything else.
If your resort is looking for entertainment that brings people together, creates shared moments, and leaves guests smiling long after the night is over, I’d be happy to help make that happen. You can reach me anytime at 1‑872‑21‑MAGIC.
